Tanqueray Rangpur was launched in 2006. The name comes from Rangpur lime, a fruit native to India that grows on the rare Rangpur tree. This orange-skinned fruit combines the acidity of lime with the juiciness of mandarin. The word “rangpur” is of Bengali origin. the fruit is also known as Cantonese lemon in China, hime in Japan, cravo in Brazil and mandarin-lime in the USA. Rangpur limes don't look much like classic limes, but rather bergamot.
