Portobello Road was invented by the Barman of Portobello Star, a London bar located at no. 171 of the famous Portobello Road. The distillery inside has a small museum and houses the Ginstitute, where you can participate in master classes on gin and produce your own customized distillate. The distillery has recently expanded to include a larger bar, restaurant and hotel. Every year the distillery releases special limited editions including the one with asparagus launched in 2015 and the one designed with chef Carlo Cracco launched in 2016 called “Local Heroes 2”.

Portobello Road is a classic London Dry distilled with nine botanicals in a 30l still named Copernicus II in the famous distillery at no. 171 of Portobello Road, London. The recipe took nine months of experimentation and was perfected with the help of Tom Thumb and Charles Maxwell.

The nose is dominated by the aromas of white pepper and berries with an abundance of juniper. The taste is spicy but well balanced, again with a healthy dose of juniper. Soft hints of lemongrass with a hint of red berries. A gin however dry on the palate, with subtle hints of citrus.

Transparent and crystalline, the nose has spicy notes of nutmeg and juniper, expressing a soft, silky and tasty taste, not at all aggressive and with a good citrus persistence.
